MXT-GURU

COLLABORATIONS

Since January 2017 our teams have been working together to offer enhanced XR experiences for museums and tourist attractions.  The short term goals are to educate and entertain, with larger goals of increasing customer satisfaction, increased sales, and notoriety.

This is an old video we made, yet references lots of elements of projects we collaborated on with GURU

SDMoA

For the San Diego Museum of Art we started by recreating a gallery in the computer, then adapted to bring the paintings to life in AR, which then evolved into an entire exhibit to showcase our joint ideas.

UME

Building on from the virtual SDMoA, we crafted an entire  experience around the possibilities VR and AR allowed.  We called this the Ultimate Museum Experience #UME.  It teleported you back in time, allowed you to dive to the Titanic, revealed the innards of a pyramid, and step inside a painting to be a part of it!.

MCASD

The Museum of Contemporary Art of San Diego wanted to raise money for a new wing.  We collaborated with GURU to build a photogrammetry 3D model that could leveraged both MobileVR and MobileAR to show the new building along with teleporting you into about a dozen locations.

HUP2

In 2018, we created one of the 1st water VR experiences for the Battleship IOWA.  At the time, there wasn't even a relevant water shader that worked in VR, so we had to write our own.  The experience was designed to teach people how to fly the HUP2 helicopter, take them on a search and rescue mission, and had several options for control realism.

KINGFISHER

Following on from the success of the HUP2 experience, a year later we developed a secondary IOWA solution involving the KingFisher plane.  Players can learn to fly, experience air2air combat, and go on a sub-hunt.  Ongoing leader boards encourage repeat play.
