VR4MS - Escapes

sn logo.JPG

Swedish Medical Center typically offers outdoor activities for its MS patients. During COVID this was impossible, and so turned to MXT to provide alternative experiences. The outcome is a suite of mini escapes from relaxing by a waterfall, to hiking up a local mountain at dawn, to creating collaborative virtual art.

Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a chronic neurological condition that affects millions of people worldwide.

This condition causes damage to the nerves in the brain and spinal cord, leading to a wide range of symptoms that can significantly impact a person's quality of life.

Advancements in technology have opened new doors for those suffering from MS, and one of the most promising among them is virtual reality (VR) therapy.

Virtual reality therapy is a type of treatment that uses immersive and interactive environments to simulate real-life situations that can help individuals manage their MS symptoms. VR therapy can help people with MS relax, improve their balance, reduce the frequency and intensity of muscle spasms, manage chronic pain, and improve cognitive function.

This is part of a suite of experiences MXT and Swedish will be bringing to MSers over the coming months.
